Neck opening measurement - It has to also fit over your pet's head
Chest - Girth, largest part of chest behind front legs
Length - measured from the base of the hoodie to the bottom
For best fit your pet's chest should be at least 1-2" less than actual chest measurement of hoodie
This hoodie does have a bit of give to it, but it's best to strive for a comfortable fit not a snug fit.
(My 22 lb Westie wore the size XL...our 7.5 lb Yorkie wears a Medium, a customer's 9 lb Maltese said the Medium was perfect as well )
