Soft dog harnesses distribute the pressure through your dog's chest and shoulders rather than on it's neck, so important and safer especially for smaller breeds.
Harnesses can typically take 7-8 letters and/or charms depending on combination chosen as some letters and charms are wider than others.
(Letters may be added in this listing at a discount.. To add charms please go to the Category: Letters, Numbers & Charms to add any charms to your order).
We make the letter strip a custom length to best fit your dog's name. If you are planning on adding charms now or at a later date, please let us know so that we can leave the letter strip at the longest length otherwise we will customize the length to your dog's name. Please leave Message when you check out. Contact us with any questions at email@example.com.
Note: Neck opening must also fit over your dog's head, much like the opening of a t-shirt neck has to fit over your head so be sure to also check your dog's head circumference to make sure it will fit over his/her head
Please measure your pet and compare to Actual measurements of harness..Your dog's weight is a starting point...Your pet's measurements are most important.
My 7-8 lb Yorkie wears the Medium which allows for short cuts as well as longer fur and she doesn't like a snug struggle up and over her head. Our 16-17 lb Westie wears the Large, and our 22 lb Westie wore the XL.
The back length measurement will let you know where from the base of your pet's neck where the back of the harness will be and the abdominal length measurement of the harness will let you know where on your pet's belly the harness will be allowing you to determine where the chest strap will go. You want it to fit one to two inches behind the front legs to allow for ease of movement.

Additional Sizing Info:
Be sure to check the sizing of each harness and compare your pet's measurements to the actual measurements of the harness to ensure a proper fit.
Soft dog harnesses neck openings slip over your pet's head much like a t-shirt neck opening slips over your head...so not only is your dog's neck measurment at the base of the neck just above the shoulders important but also the circumference of your dog's head so it will fit through the opening. If your dog has a very broad head you may need to go up a size or if your dog is very long you may need to go up a size. Please feel free to contact us with help on sizing if you are unsure.
Please measure your pet and compare to Actual Measurements of Harness to ensure a proper fit. Your pet's harness will sit at the base of the neck. The Back length of the harness will let you know how far on your pet's back from the base of the neck it will be and the abdominal Length measurement will let you know how far back on your pet's abdomen it will be so that you can determine where the chest strap will be. You want it to fit an inch or two behind the front legs to allow for ease of movement.
Your pet's measurements are most important in choosing a size. Weight or breed suggestions are only starting points. Please contact us with any questions about sizing if you are uncertain.
